A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with the rain
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree

一棵张着饥饿嘴巴的树，紧压在大地甘美而流畅的遥房上；一棵整天望着神的树，举起枝叶繁茂的手臂来祈祷；一棵树在夏日里可能戴着一窝知更鸟在头发上；雪花堆积在她的怀抱里；雨水也和她亲切地生活在一起。
