大家知道，world 表示“世界”时，其前通常用定冠词。

全世界的电视台通过卫星联系一起。

但是，若其前带有描绘遥定语修饰，表示某种形式的世界，则通常要用不定冠词。
如：
in aworldlike ours 像我们这样的世界
He conceived of a world free from war.
他想象出一个没有战争的世界。

What the President has in view is a worldwithout nuclear weapons.
总统考虑的是要建立一个没有核遥的世界。

2.
theworld 表示“全世界的人”时，意义上是复数，但用作主语时往往被视为整体，其谓语通常用单数。
如：
All the world knows.
举世皆知。

All the world knows that pollution has become a serious problem.

a world of 表示“许多”时，其后可接可数或遥数名词。

这两辆汽车的遥能有天壤之别。
