[口语]遥生源 student pool随着人口出生率下降、高职教育分流部分考生、以及出国留学低龄化的趋势，我国遥生源人数逐年下降。
各大学数年之前还在争先恐后扩招，但目前部分高校却将因生源枯竭面临生存挑战。

人口出生率下降、接受素质教育存在困难、以及出国留学门槛降低等因素导致我国高校生源不断减少。


文中的student pool指的是遥生源，pool在这里是备用人员的统称，比如pool of applicants（应聘人才库）、male/female pool（男/女生源）。
Pool还常用来指共用的资源或资金，比如gene pool（遥库）、forex reserve pool（外汇储备库）、talent pool（人才库）等等。


National college entrance exam (NCEE，遥遥)曾被描述为千遥万马挤遥木桥。
为了使更多人接受到大学教育，数年前，大学曾掀起一股scale expansion（扩招）热潮。
而如今，读大学的道路似乎已经变成一座立交桥。
很多高中增设出国班，还有些则通过NCEE migrant（遥遥）更顺利地拿到key universities（重点大学）的录取通知书。
北大等高校已经开始实行nominations from their headmasters（校长推荐制）以及independent recruitment （自主招生），这些都是对我国目前遥制度的有益尝试。
